EA Sports FC 26 Faces Major Ultimate Team Disruption After Regional Pricing Glitch
A serious regional pricing error has reportedly allowed some PC players to purchase EA Sports FC 26 FC Points at a tiny fraction of their normal price, causing massive disruption to the game’s Ultimate Team economy. The issue has sparked outrage among players, many of whom are now recommending that console users disable crossplay—except for Switch owners.
A Rocky Launch for EA Sports FC 26
EA Sports FC 26 officially launched on September 26, following a week of early access, and is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles. But its debut has been overshadowed by this glitch, which could be one of the most impactful economy-breaking incidents in the series’ history.
How the Glitch Worked
According to multiple fan reports, a decimal-point error in the Indonesian region store allowed PC players to buy 18,500 FC Points—normally priced at 2 million rupiah (around $120)—for just 2,000 or 20,000 rupiah, the equivalent of $0.12 or $1.20.
Once news of the glitch spread, some players allegedly exploited it further by using VPNs to spoof their location and complete purchases. Most reports claim the exploit only worked when using Apple Pay for the transactions.
Even at the higher discounted price, players were still buying points for just 1% of their normal cost, giving them the ability to build stacked Ultimate Team squads within hours of launch. This has left many others—who paid full price or spent hours grinding—at a major disadvantage.
Community Backlash
Social media has been flooded with complaints from frustrated players who now feel Ultimate Team has been compromised. While some see this as an unfortunate oversight, others are calling for EA to roll back the glitched transactions to restore balance to the game.
So far, EA has not issued an official response on its EASFCDirect Twitter account or elsewhere, leaving players unsure of whether the company will take action. Legal experts point out that while some countries require companies to honor listed prices, the use of VPNs could complicate any resolution.
What Console Players Can Do

Until EA provides a fix, console players are being advised to disable crossplay to avoid being matched against PC users who may have taken advantage of the glitch. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the EA Connect option in the bottom-right corner of the Main Menu.
- Open Social Settings.
- Select Cross-play.
- Go to Cross-play Settings.
- Toggle Cross-play Enabled to No.
The one exception is for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players, as those versions of the game do not support crossplay with PC or other consoles, meaning they are unaffected by this exploit.
