FC 26 Update 1.5.3 Revealed — Gameplay Changes, Fixes & Community Backlash
EA Sports has shared an early look at the upcoming FC 26 Title Update 1.5.3, just a week after the release of version 1.5.2. While the previous update focused on minor Career Mode fixes, this new patch is expected to bring broader improvements across multiple game modes.
Update Announcement
The update was officially announced on April 7, 2026, via EA Sports’ social media channels. According to the post, version 1.5.3 will roll out soon across all platforms, although it is not live yet.
Key Changes in Update 1.5.3
Unlike the previous patch, this update introduces adjustments across Gameplay, Ultimate Team, and Career Mode, along with general fixes.

Gameplay
To reduce time-wasting tactics, goalkeepers will now automatically kick the ball out of play if players repeatedly pass it back to them. This change targets rare but unrealistic gameplay scenarios.
Ultimate Team
- Fixed an issue where certain kits and badges were not searchable in the transfer market
- Resolved a bug preventing Player Celebration previews from displaying properly
Career Mode Updates
- Improved European competition standings with clearer separation between qualification spots
- Teams are now automatically added to the watchlist when applying for jobs
- Added labels to distinguish between men’s and women’s teams in challenges
- Updated UI descriptions to better explain career progress and save completion
- Managers with low job security at the end of the season are now upgraded to “Okay” status
Career Mode Fixes
- Fixed incorrect manager assignments when selecting Icons & Heroes during career setup
- Resolved an issue where ICON players requested unrealistically low wages
- Corrected a bug placing league winners in the wrong European competition
- Addressed overlapping or incorrect text issues
General Fixes and Improvements
- Updated various visual elements, including kits, logos, banners, player models, and more
- Fixed several stability issues
While the previous update was initially released on PC, this version is expected to launch on consoles as well.
Community Reaction
Despite the list of improvements, the update hasn’t been fully welcomed by the community. Many players feel that key issues remain unresolved.
Some of the most common complaints include:
- Problems with the Pro camera in Champions mode
- Requests to remove or adjust visual effects like bruises
- Connectivity issues during friendly matches, including high ping when joining friends
Overall, while update 1.5.3 brings a range of fixes and adjustments, player feedback suggests that several important concerns still need to be addressed.
