Additionally, the new free-to-play mobile version of EA Sports FC 24 has also performed exceptionally well, amassing over 11.2 million downloads since its release.

While these numbers are undoubtedly impressive, it's important to note that they include EA Play subscribers, who technically have access to the game as part of their subscription. Whether these numbers will directly translate into sales remains to be seen. Nevertheless, EA Sports is proudly asserting its position as the leader in the football simulation genre, even after a change in its format forced by the lack of an agreement with FIFA to continue using its name in EA Sports FC 24.

EA Sports FC 24 remains the undisputed king of the genre, especially since Konami transformed Pro-Evolution Soccer into eFootball and essentially disappeared from the scene as a free-to-play game. While there are other football simulators that aim to challenge EA Sports' dominance, they often offer experiences that are not as comprehensive or explore different aspects of the game, such as Football Manager 2024, which provides a unique club management experience. Nevertheless, EA Sports FC 24's most significant draw remains the same as FIFA's: Ultimate Team. Even though the new game allows players to develop their favorite male and female players over time and turn them into stars, many still prefer to include high-value players in their teams, keeping the FC Points market as lively as ever.
