Lakia Returns to Gen.G Esports as Sixth Man

Gen.G Esports has officially welcomed back Kim “Lakia” Jongmin, marking his return to the organization as the sixth player — nearly a year after his previous departure. The announcement was shared via Gen.G’s official social media channels.

Lakia originally rose to prominence in 2021, finishing 3rd at Masters Reykjavík with NUTURN Gaming, Korea’s first breakout team on the international VALORANT stage. Since then, he has competed under top-tier Korean banners such as DRX, IGZIST, and DAMWON Gaming.

In 2023, he first joined Gen.G Esports, contributing to their rise as a global powerhouse. His most notable accomplishments with the team include:

  • 🥈 2nd place at Masters Madrid 2024
  • 🥇 1st place at Masters Shanghai 2024

Now returning as a substitute, Lakia adds valuable experience and strategic depth to Gen.G’s already stacked lineup.

📅 What’s Next for Gen.G?

Gen.G’s next appearance will be on August 8, as they face Nongshim RedForce in the Opening Matches of Group Alpha during VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 2. The match will follow a Best-of-3 (Bo3) format.
