Riot Games to Build New Gaming House in Berlin for VCT 2023 Partner Teams
According to the Dot Esports portal, Riot Games is going to build a new gaming house in Berlin for VCT 2023 partner teams from Europe, Turkey and the CIS. Ten organizations will face off at the new Messe Berlin Charlottenburg studio after the 2023 VALORANT Champions Tour: LOCK//IN São Paulo Kickoff Tournament concludes.
The new studio, which is currently under construction, is reportedly on the other side of town from Riot Games headquarters in Berlin and the LEC studio. The company's decision to build a new studio lies in the impossibility of holding championships in two of its disciplines at the same time in one location.
In addition, the organizers recently introduced the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: EMEA League format. The league will consist of one round robin tournament that will run over eight weeks, with matches played on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, excluding the final week. Each team will play nine matches, one against each of the other nine opponents.
The top six teams in the main stage will advance to a modified double elimination bracket. It is currently unknown how many top ranked teams in the VCT EMEA Playoffs will move on to the Masters in June, then to the Last Chance Qualifier in July, and finally to the Champions in August.
In addition, the Challengers Series competition will coincide with the VCT EMEA schedule, culminating in the Ascension tournament in July, where one team will receive a two-year slot to advance to the VCT EMEA next year.
List of partner organizations for the European League:
- Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, FUT Esports, BBL Esports, Natus Vincere, Fnatic, Team Liquid, KOI, Team Heretics and Giants Gaming
