The Sentinels officially unveil their new coaching staff
The North American esports organization Sentinels has officially unveiled a new VALORANT coaching staff. While Rawkus left his post, SyykoNT and kaplan joined the team as head coach and strategist, respectively.
It was not an easy task, but you were up to the challenge. We appreciate your hard work and all you have contributed to the Sentinels, thank you Coach Rawkus.
Rawkus has served as head coach for the Sentinels since the end of last season. However, the 28-year-old American specialist did not achieve much success with the team, speaking at VALORANT Champions 2021, and also failing VCT 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers and VCT 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifier. At the same time, Rawkus left the team at the beginning of this year, but returned to his work a few months later.
SyykoNT becomes the new head coach of the team. The 30-year-old American specialist has spent the last two seasons at the helm of XSET, where he won the NSG x Complexity Invitational, NSG: Summer Championship - Philadelphia and VCT 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers.
In turn, kaplan joined the Sentinels as a strategic coach. The 28-year-old specialist previously worked with the Ghost Gaming team, which led to victories at the Knights Gauntlet Circuit Monthly 2022: April and NSG: Summer Championship.
The Sentinels are one of ten organizations that have made it into the VALORANT American League, which will be based in Los Angeles next season. They will be joined by four other organizations from North America (Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses and NRG Esports), three from Brazil (LOUD, FURIA and MIBR) and two from Latin America (KRU Esports and Leviatán Esports).
The current Sentinels roster for VALORANT is:
- ShahZaM
- dapr
- TenZ
- shroud
- SyykoNT (head coach)
- kaplan (strategy trainer)
