Gen.G Esports may sign Northeption player
According to analyst Bleed Esports, multinational esports organization Gen.G Esports plans to strengthen its VALORANT roster after entering the partner ecosystem for next season. In particular, the club is considering signing current Northeption player Meteor.
Gen.G Esports is reportedly interested in signing Meteor. It is known that Northeption failed to get into the franchise league for Asia and wants to "quickly sell" their lineup. In turn, Gen.G Esports plans to field a mixed roster of Japanese and Korean players.
Meteor spent the last season with Northeption. Together with the team, the 22-year-old South Korean esportsman became the champion of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Japan Stage 2 Challengers Playoffs, and also took third place in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: East Asia Last Chance Qualifier.
In addition, he also helped the Japanese team to take part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen, finishing 9th-10th.
As for Gen.G Esports, according to numerous sources, the organization will be included in the final list of Riot Games partners for the Asian League. At the same time, the club is currently based in North America, where it has been represented for the last two seasons. Still, there is no reason to think that the organization will not begin the process of relocating its division by opening the selection for entry into the starting lineup.
The Asia League will be hosted by Seoul, with ten selected partners from Southeast Asia, South Korea, Japan and Oceania.
