Renegades made it to the RLCS 2021/2022 World Championship

Representatives of Renegades wrote on their Twitter account that the fans of the club can be happy for their wards. The Australian team will attend the World Championship, as they have earned enough ranking points in the Oceania region and will go to the Rocket League Championship Series 2021/2022 World Championship. They did it with another Australian team, the Pioneers.

Pioneers are currently participating in the RLCS 2021/2022 Spring Split Major with a prize pool of $300,000 and have secured a minimum of 9th-12th place, for which $6,000 and 260 ranking points are due. Since Renegades do not participate in this tournament, their opponents Pioneers, in case of a successful performance in the next match of the lower bracket against Moist Esports, will receive not 260, but 360 rating points and overtake Renegades in the ranking of the best teams among the countries of Oceania.

RLCS 2021/2022 World Championship will be held from 4 to 14 August. The Rocket League World Championship will have a total prize pool of $2,085,000 and will take place at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The tournament will feature 24 teams competing for the top prize of $600,000. Vice-champion and bronze medalists, in turn, will receive $400,000 and $200,000 respectively.

The Renegades and Pioneers advanced to the Wildcard stage. Pioneers if they perform well at the ongoing Split Spring Major and earn a large number of ranking points, they will be able to reach the top 8 teams in the world and receive a direct invitation to the group stage of the World Championship. The wildcard stage will take place before the group stage with the participation of 16 teams in the Swiss system and Bo5 matches. Wildcard, in addition to Renegades and Pioneers, previously hosted such teams as The General NRG, Spacestation Gaming, Dignitas, Endpoint CeX, Karmine Corp, FURIA Esports, Team Secret, Tokyo Verdy Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Falcons, Veloce Esports, Orlando Pirates Exdee, Bravado Gaming, Version1 and OpTic Gaming. It is noteworthy that Version1, OpTic Gaming, Spacestation Gaming, Endpoint CeX, Pioneers, FURIA Esports and Team Falcons take part in the Spring Split Major and for this reason, four of the above teams will continue their way straight to the group stage, skipping the Wildcard.
