Fluxo Acquires CBLOL Slot
Brazilian esports organization Fluxo has officially announced the purchase of the Rensga eSports slot in the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL) franchise. The deal was closed a few months ago, while the rest of the time the parties agreed on the final details.
Interestingly, just a day ago a friend, the Brazilian esports organization Vivo Keyd Stars also acquired a slot in the Brazilian League of Legends Championship, which was previously owned by the Miners.
The Rensga Esports organization only acquired the slot in 2021. However, in two years the team failed to reach significant heights, finishing second in CBLOL Split 2 2021. At the same time, the club disbanded its main roster last summer, playing in the second split with players from the academy.
Rengsa Esports' explanation regarding the sale of the slot was due to a change in the plans of the organization, which was changing its business model. The new direction chosen by the management of the organization refocused Rengsa Esports on the launch of Tipspace, a game monetization platform.
Notably, Fluxo executives did not disclose the final price they paid to purchase the slot. However, Renan Philip, the organization's CEO, hinted that Fluxo paid less than $2,000,000. The Brazilian club also believes that the purpose of buying a slot in CBLOL is to increase long-term stability.
Note that Fluxo becomes the third organization that decided to expand after Free Fire to League of Legends - previously LOUD and Los Grandes have gone the same way.
Current Brazilian League of Legends Championship roster: Los Grandes, FURIA Esports, INTZ, KaBuM! e-Sports, Liberty, LOUD, Vivo Keyd Stars, paiN Gaming, RED Canids and Fluxo.
