Fluxo buys slot from Rensga eSports in CBLOL
Brazilian esports organization Fluxo has acquired a franchise seat in Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) from Rensga eSports, according to Esports Insider. In addition, Miners.gg is another team from CBLOL that is in talks with other organizations to sell their place in the league.
Founded in January 2021 by esports superstars Bruno Gow and Lucio Lima, Fluxo first gained prominence in the mobile game Free Fire, where the founders became famous as players and streamers. More recently, the organization announced its expansion into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with EstrelaBet as its main sponsor. As Fluxo works with specific sponsors for each discipline it participates in, there is no confirmation as to whether there are sponsors involved in the expansion to League of Legends.
Rensga eSports appears to be leaving the franchise two years after joining the Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends. According to the source, the Brazilian organization is undergoing a management reform and will dedicate its future operations primarily to content creation.
When the franchise model for CBLOL was created in 2021, Rensga Esports paid Riot Games R$4 million. While the actual deal has not been disclosed, Fluxo is likely to pay a significantly higher amount for a league spot.
Parallel to this, another CBLOL team that may leave the league this year is Miners.gg. The organization is also reportedly in talks to sell its spot. Some talks are said to be moving forward, but the names of the buyers have not been released.
If Miners.gg does sell its seat, there will be three franchise transitions within CBLOL alone for 2022.
