MaRin is the new head coach of Team Liquid
The European esports organization Team Liquid has announced the appointment of MaRin as the new head coach of the League of Legends roster. The 31-year-old South Korean specialist is returning from a four-year vacation to replace Guilhoto.
We are excited to welcome MaRin as our new LCS Head Coach for Team Liquid Honda! World champion and LCK veteran, MaRin is ready to prepare Team Liquid Honda for a new era.
MaRin has made a name for himself as a professional esports player. Performing on stage from 2013 to 2018, the 31-year-old South Korean became the winner of the LCK Spring 2015, LCK Summer 2015 and 2015 World Championship, and also got into the top three at the Mid-Season Invitational 2015, KeSPA Cup 2015 and LCK Regional Finals 2017.
However, MaRin ended his career at the end of 2018 and left the stage to return four years later as head coach.
In turn, the Team Liquid organization recently said goodbye to Guilhoto, who led the roster for the last season. However, the team did not gain fame with him, while the management rounded the results of the team as unsatisfactory.
Currently, the European club continues to rebuild its squad for the LCS. Earlier, the team parted ways with Bjergsen and Hans sama, and also disbanded its former coaching staff, leaving only analysts. At the same time, Steve Arhanse, CEO of Team Liquid, promised to rebuild the roster in accordance with the new principles.
According to rumors, the Liquids are going to build a roster around South Korean players. Thus, Bwipo will surely leave the team, while Santorin almost agreed on a transfer to Dignitas.
