Another GTA Online Reference Is Found In GTA 6 Gameplay Video

GTA 6 has been confirmed to take place in the same universe as the fourth and fifth installments of the franchise, the so-called “HD Universe.” However, it remains unclear exactly how many years have passed since the events of GTA 5—and especially GTA Online—since Rockstar continues to develop the game’s multiplayer part to this day. But players have already managed to uncover several connections.

Last week’s release of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look confirmed the appearance in the game of a character named Valentina, who previously debuted in GTA Online. Meanwhile, a new discovery by a user on the social media X confirms that GTA 6 features a painting that appeared in the latest major update for GTA Online, “The Kortz Center Heist.” It could be seen just before Lucia falls into the elevator shaft—but few people noticed this detail on their first viewing.

The painting shown in the GTA 6 trailer is the same artwork from GTA Online called "The Drop." It appears right before Lucia makes the drop in the elevator.

Interestingly, in “The Kortz Center Heist” update, previously players found what they believe to be teasers for the GTA 6 map. And although Rockstar hasn’t revealed the full version of the game’s map yet, hacker Cyberleek did so earlier; shortly before the premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, he also leaked more than ten gameplay clips from an early version of the game.
