Pearl Abyss Showed How Crimson Desert Has Changed Since Its Launch

Crimson Desert, an RPG released by Pearl Abyss in this March, is one of the major games that has undergone a significant transformation since its launch. As we recall, the game faced a barrage of criticism from players who expressed dissatisfaction with the story and gameplay. However, the developers have gradually worked to improve many aspects of the game and continue to do so—to such an extent that Crimson Desert is now one of the best games of 2026.

Looking back on everything the game has been through over the past five months or so, Pearl Abyss has released a special trailer dedicated to the transformation of Crimson Desert. In it, the developers highlighted that a wealth of new content has been added to the game during this period, and if you haven’t played it yet, the trailer gives you an insight into what you’re in for, as you can check out below:

Pearl Abyss has also recently shared the latest figures from Q2 2026 financial results —thanks to Crimson Desert, the company’s revenue reached 192.6 billion won ($136.2 million). In addition, the studio has confirmed that the game will receive DLC later this year and will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 next year. Moreover, the developers intend to release their new title, DokeV, in the second half of 2028.

Last week, the developers also released the latest Crimson Desert update, Patch Notes Version 1.17.00, which didn't add new content but focused purely on optimization and fixing a number of technical issues.
