Pearl Abyss Confirmed Crimson Desert DLC Will Be Released Later This Year
Pearl Abyss, the developer behind Crimson Desert, has published its financial report for Q2 2026, confirming a significant profit boost following the game's release this March, while also outlining the studio's plans going forward.
As reported by The Chosun Daily, Pearl Abyss's revenue from April to June 2026 totaled 192.6 billion won, which is roughly $136.2 million. Crimson Desert alone generated 136.1 billion won (over $96 million), accounting for nearly 70% of total revenue, outpacing what the studio's previous MMORPG, Black Desert, managed at a comparable point.
The report also revealed Pearl Abyss's plans for Crimson Desert going forward. The game’s DLC, officially announced in early June, is confirmed to arrive before the end of the year, and the game will make its way to Nintendo Switch 2 in the first half of 2027. The studio will also keep pushing out free updates, currently landing roughly once a week to every week and a half.
As for studio's other projects, DokeV, an open-world action-adventure featuring the Dokebi, is tentatively slated for a 2028 release. It was previously reported Pearl Abyss shifted into full development on the game following Crimson Desert's release.
Last week, the developers also released the latest Crimson Desert update, Patch Notes Version 1.17.00, which didn't add new content but focused purely on optimization and fixing a number of technical issues.
