PlayStation Revealed Official Rating for GTA 6 – Mature 17+

While fans desperately hope for news about GTA 6, all kinds of leaks about the game continue to surface. And they are not coming from insiders, but this time it happened thanks to PlayStation’s promotional emails. By the way, this is not the first curious mailing related to GTA 6.

Last week, the users of PlayStation 4 started to receive emails with a proposal to switch to PlayStation 5 due to the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI. This sparked rumors that new materials about the game might be shown soon and also reinforced earlier reports about a possible partnership between Sony and Take-Two/Rockstar Games. Right now, Reddit users have noticed a new newsletter that revealed and confirmed that GTA 6 will have a 'Mature' rating, M 17+, as you can check out below:

"Another small but significant detail just surfaced: the PlayStation promotional email being sent to PS4 players about upgrading for GTA 6 reportedly shows the game rated M for Mature.

Not exactly surprising for a GTA game, but an official M rating showing up in a Sony promotional email this close to launch is yet another signal that everything behind the scenes is locked and loaded. Rating confirmations don't happen until a game is close to ready."

There is no surprise Grand Theft Auto VI will have a 17+ rating, just like the previous game series installment. That means the game will "delight" fans with everything we love about GTA games—blood and gore, violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, use of drugs and alcohol, and strong sexual content.

While the GTA 6 developers are actively preparing for the game's marketing campaign, creating various billboards and other promotional materials, and Take-Two is preparing for the next financial earnings call, scheduled for May 21, fans noticed that Rockstar Games may have uploaded a new game trailer to their website, as a 'database crash' was observed. There is also a chance that pre-orders for GTA 6 will be available today as well as the price of $70 will be confirmed —this information comes from employee of a large game retailer in the UK, though it should be considered with a grain of salt.
