CD Projekt Co-Founders Linked to Investigation Into Mysterious Death in Czech Republic
Polish authorities have reopened an investigation into the death of a Polish citizen who died under unclear circumstances in the Czech Republic. The woman’s body was discovered on a farm where rituals involving ayahuasca—a psychoactive plant brew traditionally used in South American shamanic ceremonies and illegal in Europe—were reportedly taking place.
According to a report by the Polish outlet Onet, the property where the incident occurred was co-owned by Michał Kiciński, a wealthy Polish entrepreneur and co-founder of CD Projekt RED. Kiciński is currently associated with the digital game distribution platform GOG. The investigation has also referenced Marcin Iwiński, another CD Projekt RED co-founder and Kiciński’s former business partner.

Rituals Reportedly Held on Czech Farm
Investigators say Kiciński co-owned a farm in Janov, Czech Republic, where shamanic ceremonies were allegedly organized by Bartosz B., a figure known in the community as “Badi.” Reports suggest that Kiciński participated in some of these rituals and maintained contact with their organizers, including “Badi” and another individual described as a “shaman,” Jarosław Kordys.
Around the same time, Marcin Iwiński purchased property in the nearby town of Nýdek, where similar ayahuasca ceremonies were reportedly conducted. However, Iwiński told investigators that he had simply allowed acquaintances to stay at the property while he was away. He stated that he was unaware of any rituals taking place and denied any involvement.
Case Reopened After Years of New Findings
The death of the 54-year-old woman, which investigators believe may be linked to one of these ceremonies, occurred in 2018. At the time, the investigation stalled without reaching clear conclusions.
In recent years, however, authorities have gathered new information, prompting Polish prosecutors to reopen the case. Investigators are now attempting to reconstruct the events surrounding the woman’s death and examine potential connections between the property owners and the organizers of the ceremonies—relationships that were not previously known. During this renewed investigation, the names of the CD Projekt co-founders surfaced in connection with the locations involved.
No Charges Filed So Far
At this stage, no charges have been brought against Michał Kiciński or Marcin Iwiński. The investigation remains ongoing, and prosecutors have indicated that further evidence could still emerge as they continue examining the circumstances surrounding the death on the Czech farm eight years ago.
