New Quake Video Game Teased by ZeniMax Media
Rumors are regularly circulating about the new Quake game that could be in development by id Software and Bethesda Softworks. This January’s report from Jez Corden suggested a new title could be announced at this year’s Bethesda QuakeCon 2026, and the latest update just added more fuel to the fire.
It’s been revealed that ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, which owns the rights to multiple game series, including Quake, has updated the trademark related to the franchise. Usually, this happens before the official announcement of a new title, just like it was last year when Remedy registered the Control Resonant trademark and announced the game at The Game Awards 2025.
The latest Quake installment was the free-to-play Quake Champions, released in 2022, and the last single-player Quake was Quake 4, released in 2005. The fans are hopeful the new Quake game will be similar to 2016’s Doom reboot in terms of story, soundtrack, and gameplay—and hopefully we will find out more information soon.
id Software is also working on a new DLC for Doom: The Dark Ages, which is expected to be massive and could well be the game's sequel and the third installment of Wolfenstein. Although the game hasn't been announced, the first details were reportedly leaked recently.
