Another Fallout 4 Update Arrives This Month – Bug Fixes, Stability Improvements & More

Fallout 4 is preparing to release a new update later this month, aiming to address a wave of technical issues that have frustrated players since the game’s 10th anniversary celebration. Bethesda marked the milestone with the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, but instead of a smooth experience, many fans encountered crashes, broken mods, and problems accessing paid content, sparking criticism across the community.

Both the original and Anniversary versions support Bethesda’s Creation system, yet the new offerings caused instability on multiple platforms. The upcoming update is designed to improve stability, saving and loading behavior, and UI reliability, especially within Creation menus. While Bethesda didn’t provide a specific release day, it has previously stated the patch should arrive during the week of November 24, so players won’t have to wait long. The studio also confirmed development is ongoing, with a roadmap of additional updates planned to address remaining issues.

Bethesda further shared that the next round of details will arrive in December, acknowledging how disruptive the anniversary launch has been. One of the most frustrating problems involved a bug where the Anniversary Edition would occasionally fail to recognize purchased content as owned, making certain items inaccessible even for players who paid for them. This situation fueled even more backlash as users demanded stability rather than new problems.

These frustrations echo past events. Last year’s next-gen update also broke a large number of mods, causing similar uproar among longtime fans. With updates scheduled for November and December, players are now hoping that Fallout 4 can return to the stable condition it enjoyed before the anniversary rollout — though only time will tell if the fixes are enough.

Fallout 4 November 2025 Patch Notes 📋

The new patch includes a long list of technical improvements across consoles and PC. Crashes have been a major concern, and several have now been addressed — for example, a crash when starting a new game with Creations on PS4 has been resolved, and issues involving quitting the game with the Pip-Boy open on PS4 and PS5 have also been fixed. Other stability fixes include:

  • A solution for rare crashes related to switching between save data load orders, especially if Creations are missing.
  • Fixes for crashes when selecting “Purchase Credits” or when attempting to download all owned Creation Club content.
  • An issue where guest or local account users could access the Creations menu and get stuck has been corrected.

Saving and loading problems were another major source of complaints. The update now ensures that exit saves are created properly when returning to the main menu, and infinite loading screens when downloading missing Creation Club data from another platform should be resolved. Xbox users switching profiles should no longer experience softlocks or loss of control. Additionally, the game now warns players if they load a save with creations that don’t match the current configuration.

The update also delivers UI and experience improvements. The Creations menu now runs more smoothly across all platforms and no longer causes softlocks when players enter or exit repeatedly. Bundle pricing updates instantly after players purchase individual items, and bundle entries now show the correct file size. The in-game Creations menu will also respect the player’s custom load order instead of reorganizing items alphabetically, and players can once again like or unlike creations directly within the Load Order screen.

Finally, downloaded content will now remain visible in Load Order even if it is deleted from BethesdaNet, and guest/local users can no longer open the Creations menu at all — the option is correctly grayed out, just as it is on PlayStation systems.
