Baldur’s Gate 3 Releases New Hotfix for November 2025

Larian Studios has rolled out a new Baldur’s Gate 3 update for November 2025, titled Hotfix 35. This patch focuses primarily on fixing crashes across all platforms and improving Steam Deck performance. However, the small update has caused frustration for many players, as it has temporarily broken numerous BG3 mods, leading to widespread complaints from the community.

A Small Update, But Expected at This Stage

The previous Baldur’s Gate 3 update arrived in September 2025, and like this one, it was a smaller patch dedicated to stability and crash fixes. Players should expect this trend to continue, as Patch 8 (released back in April) was the final major content update for the game. With Larian having mostly moved on to new projects, it’s somewhat surprising—and appreciated—that the studio is still offering maintenance support at all.

Hotfix 35 Patch Notes 🛠️

The official Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 35 notes were shared on Steam, detailing multiple crash fixes across PS5, Xbox, Steam Deck, and Mac. Steam Deck users in particular will notice improvements to the native build, including a major change to the default upscaling method:

  • FSR 1 has been replaced with FSR 2.2, offering noticeably sharper visuals.

While Hotfix 35 isn’t large in scope, the stability updates are welcome for regular players.

Mod Compatibility Issues Return ⚠️

As with many previous updates, Hotfix 35 will break existing mods until their authors update them. Players on the official subreddit have already reported issues after installing the new patch. Anyone using a modded setup should:

  • Update their mods before launching the game, or
  • Expect Baldur’s Gate 3 to fail to work correctly.

While frustrating, this is a familiar situation for modded BG3 players, who typically know the risks that come with post-patch updates.

Larian Still Supporting the Game (But Only Lightly) 🎮

Even though Larian Studios is now in development on multiple new projects, fans may still see occasional small patches like Hotfix 35 in the future. The studio has largely concluded deep development on Baldur’s Gate 3 but is continuing limited support when necessary.

As for Larian’s new games, no major details have been shared yet, and it may be some time before the studio reveals more. What is certain is that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be a very tough act to follow.
