Riders Republic Is Getting a Movie Adaptation — Directed by the Creators of “Bad Boys for Life”
A film based on the game Riders Republic is currently in early development, with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah at the helm — the same duo behind Bad Boys for Life.
The project hasn't entered active production yet, so there’s no confirmed plot or casting information. Since the original game doesn’t follow a traditional storyline, the filmmakers face a creative challenge: crafting an engaging narrative while staying true to the energetic and playful spirit of Riders Republic.
In an interview with Deadline, the producers stated that, together with Ubisoft Film & Television, they plan to bring “humor and spectacular stunts on snowy Alpine slopes” to the big screen. Filming won’t begin until at least 2026, meaning we might not see the movie until 2027 at the earliest.
If you’ve never played Riders Republic, here’s a quick summary. Released in 2021, it’s a large-scale multiplayer open-world game that combines extreme sports like biking, snowboarding, wingsuit flying, and more — all set in a massive map inspired by real U.S. national parks. Up to 64 players can compete in events simultaneously, and the game has already surpassed 10 million total players.
Fun fact: When building the game’s world, the developers blended landscapes from several famous parks — including Yellowstone, Mammoth Mountain, and Bryce Canyon — into one seamless environment. There’s a good chance this diverse terrain will be recreated in the movie, giving fans a deeper sense of immersion and authenticity.
