Assassin’s Creed Roadmap: Insider Reveals Ubisoft’s Plans for the Franchise 1

According to the journalist, plans for the release of new Assassin’s Creed installments are mapped out for the next six years. It’s expected that during this time, at least nine more titles will be added to the franchise. Based on the current strategy, major entries in the series are set to release every two to three years, with smaller-scale projects, such as Mirage-style games, filling the gaps in between. This is great news for fans, as it means a fairly large number of projects are in the pipeline.

Upcoming Assassin’s Creed Titles

As mentioned above, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was delayed, which has caused a ripple effect in the release timeline of future games. Therefore, Henderson didn’t specify exact release dates but listed the projects in the order they are expected to launch.

  • Assassin’s Creed Jade – A mobile project set in 3rd-century BC China. This is expected to be the next release in the franchise. Some outlets, such as Reuters, reported that the launch is planned for 2025.
  • Invictus – A multiplayer game inspired by Fall Guys, where players must complete challenges across multiple rounds. According to Henderson, the game already has a five-year support plan designed — now the studio just needs to meet expectations. This is quite an unusual format for Ubisoft, but we’ll see how it turns out.
  • Obsidian – This codename refers to a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, built using the new Anvil engine. The revamped Black Flag is expected to launch around the same time as Invictus.
  • Hexe – A smaller game set during a witch hunt. This title is expected to be released after the post-launch support for Shadows ends. Ubisoft plans to support Shadows with content for about two years. Hexe will also receive support, but only for one year post-release.
  • Scarlet – The next large-scale entry in the franchise and part of the main RPG line. It will be released once support for Hexe wraps up. Henderson confirmed that the project has been greenlit and development has started, but no further details were revealed. The insider believes Scarlet may be Codename: Nebula, which is set across multiple locations: India, the Aztec Empire, and the Mediterranean.

  • Stardust – Another remake, although it’s currently unclear which installment it will reimagine. Development is expected to begin after the release of the Black Flag remake.
  • Emerald – A second multiplayer project that will launch shortly after Stardust. Like Invictus, if expectations are met, Emerald will receive at least five years of support.
  • RPG3 – A full-scale Assassin’s Creed RPG that doesn’t yet have a codename, theme, or even a designated developer. Its release is planned for after the two-year support cycle of Scarlet.
  • Remake3 – Like the previous title, little is known about this one. According to Henderson, Ubisoft hasn’t yet decided which previous game will receive the remake treatment. However, there is a tentative release window — about a year after RPG3. So, fans will need to wait for the earlier releases first.

This is the current Assassin’s Creed roadmap. On paper, the plans look quite ambitious — we’ll find out in time how well Ubisoft brings them to life.
