Powering the Switch 2: CPU and GPU

The Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to run on an Nvidia T239 system-on-chip (SoC). This chip features an ARM Cortex-A78C processor with eight cores. Of these, six cores will be dedicated to gaming performance, while two will handle background system tasks.

For graphics, the console is said to include a GPU based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture, the same architecture used in many high-end gaming PCs. It will also support DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), allowing for real-time image upscaling to enhance visual quality without sacrificing performance.

Memory and System Allocation

According to the leak, the Switch 2 will include 12GB of RAM, which marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor. However, 3GB of this memory will be reserved for system operations, leaving 9GB exclusively available for games and applications.

Introducing GameChat: Built-In Voice Communication

One of the more exciting rumored features is GameChat, Nintendo’s new native voice chat system designed to function similarly to Discord. Developers have reportedly already begun testing this system using simulation tools that mimic API latency to better understand its effect on memory and performance.

Release Date Confirmed

Despite the silence on official specs, one thing is clear: the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2025. As more details surface, fans can expect further insights into how this next-gen console will evolve Nintendo’s hybrid gaming experience.
