Scribing Comes to The Elder Scrolls Online as a Free Feature

The Elder Scrolls Online has announced that Scribing, a highly anticipated gameplay feature, will soon be available for free to all players as part of the base game. First launched in 2014, ESO has consistently expanded its world with new content and updates to deliver the best possible experience to its dedicated player community.

Celebrating 10 Years of ESO

As part of the game's tenth anniversary celebration, ZeniMax is offering a unique collectible: a stick of RAM from the original servers that powered The Elder Scrolls Online. For $110, fans can own a piece of the game's history, beautifully displayed in an 80-square-inch framed wooden case. Each RAM piece is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. With only 2,000 units available worldwide, these collectibles are expected to ship in July.

Scribing — Free for Everyone

Previously a paid feature, Scribing will soon be accessible to all players at no cost. This new system allows players to customize and enhance their skills in unique ways — whether patching weaknesses in a build or boosting overall power. However, ZeniMax has emphasized that they've worked carefully to avoid introducing any overpowered or exploitative abilities. Players will be able to claim Scribing for free through the Crown Store starting in mid-July.

New Ways to Customize: Subclassing

Alongside Scribing, ESO recently introduced Subclassing, another major feature designed to deepen character customization. Once players reach level 50, they can embark on a quest to unlock the ability to subclass, offering fresh ways to fine-tune their characters' skills and roles. Best of all, Subclassing will also be free for all players, whether they're playing the base version or own expansions.

The addition of Subclassing is expected to significantly impact the game's PvE and PvP balance, and the community is already buzzing with excitement about the new possibilities it brings.

A Bright Future for The Elder Scrolls Online

Thanks to ongoing updates, including the recent introduction of two new dungeons and revamped starting zones, The Elder Scrolls Online continues to thrive. With Scribing, Subclassing, and even more updates on the horizon, fans have plenty of reasons to feel optimistic about the future of this ever-evolving MMORPG.
