The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Patch 1.1 Released, Improves Performance with Resizable BAR
Nixxes has dropped Patch 1.1 for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC, bringing some notable performance improvements, especially for those with Resizable BAR enabled. While the improvements seem subtle for some, they can be game-changers in specific setups.
In testing, using a high-end AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D paired with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, the patch didn't show major performance gains at 1080p in CPU-bound areas, like Jackson City. However, the real magic happens at higher resolutions. At 4K with Ultra settings, the game saw an increase of 6-7% in performance, pushing the average frame rate from 123 FPS to 132 FPS and the minimum from 110 FPS to 117 FPS.
Additionally, the update improves autosaving for users who have their Windows Documents folder stored on OneDrive or other cloud services. This hotfix aims to prevent potential issues when Resizable BAR is enabled, saving players from having to disable it in their BIOS.
For The Last of Us Part 2 fans, this patch is a solid step forward, delivering smoother gameplay for those with the right hardware. If you’re playing on PC, expect the update to auto-download via Steam the next time you launch the client.
Stay tuned for more updates on The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered!
