Electronic Arts Revealed New Details of Ultimate Team In EA Sports FC 27

Electronic Arts continues to reveal fresh details about EA Sports FC 27, the latest entry in its football simulator series. At the end of last month, the studio showcased gameplay footage from the new game and highlighted new features, including updates to career mode. Now that August has kicked off, the spotlight has shifted to Ultimate Team—arguably the mode most played by fans and gamers alike.

A new clip, Official FUT Deep Dive, breaks down the main improvements EA has made to Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 27. The FUT Gallery now lets you track every player card that's ever represented your club, with cards pulled from various packs forming Gallery Sets. Leveling up your ‘Gallery Level’ unlocks different rewards along the way. Ultimate Team will also feature ‘Holographic Player Items’, each with a unique visual design. Other additions include an improved Branching Evolution Pathways system, letting players develop more realistically through the Pathways feature, plus a new Streamlined SBC feature that makes it faster and easier to trade in unwanted cards to upgrade your squad.

On EA Sports FC 27's world premiere, the developers also shared full details on all three editions—Standard, Ultimate, and Ultimate+. All three come with pre-order bonuses, though only Ultimate and Ultimate+ include special player bonuses. EA Sports FC 27 releases September 25 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and Switch 2. Speaking of Electronic Arts, the studio is expected to change ownership within the next couple of days, with the deal involving the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners set to officially close on August 4th.
