Rune Eaters were disqualified by D2CL
The organizers of the Dota 2 championship among the CIS teams announced the decision of Rune Eaters to withdraw from Dota 2 Champions League Season 11. The reason for this was a conflict in the schedule and the inability to combine it with the Dota Pro Circuit league. In all matches with their participation, a technical victory will be counted for opponents of Rune Eaters. This is the second such incident at the event. On May 23, it became known about the refusal of three teams to participate in the championship. Team Empire, Nemiga Gaming and Wayfarers withdrew from the tournament. If in the case of Nemiga and Wayfarers the vacant places were occupied by other teams, namely KBU.US and ALIS VENTORUS, then the fate of the Empire slot was the same as in the case of Rune Eaters - in all matches the team will be awarded a technical defeat.
Dota 2 Champions League started on May 23rd and will end on June 5th. The total prize pool of the eleventh season of D2CL will be $50,000, and 10 teams are currently distributing it. Later, four more teams will join this process, which will receive direct invitations from the organizers immediately to the playoffs. The teams started their journey from the group stage, where everyone was divided into two groups of 6 teams each. Only two members from each sextet will advance to the playoffs, joining the four invited teams. The winner of the competition will receive the main cash prize of $20,000.
