Wisper Joins Team Liquid to Replace Ace

Team Liquid have announced Bolivian offlaner Adrián "Wisper" Céspedes Dobles as their new Position 3. The organization confirmed the signing on X on September 20, calling it "the return to Europe."

Wisper takes the spot left by Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard, who parted ways with the team on September 13 after almost a year with the organization. Ace joined in October 2025 together with Erik "tOfu" Engel and left following The International 2026.

Wisper is a 24-year-old offlaner from Bolivia who last played for LGD Gaming. He has spent years on the international scene, including a stint on Evil Geniuses' South American roster. Liquid also published a video titled "What does Wisper mean for South America?", which suggests the signing is meant to resonate with the region's Dota 2 community.

The lineup Wisper is joining had a strong but uneven year. The season started with a 3rd place finish at DreamLeague Season 28, where the team lost 0:2 to Aurora and earned $105,000. In February, Liquid won BLAST Slam VI by beating Natus Vincere 3:1 in the grand final, taking home $400,000. A month later, they reached the grand final of PGL Wallachia Season 7 but lost 2:3 to Team Yandex and settled for 2nd place and $175,000. Liquid bounced back in August by winning 1win Essence II, beating Team Falcons 3:0 in the grand final for $100,000. However, the team could not carry that form into The International 2026, where they lost 0:2 to Team Spirit and finished 5th-6th, earning $195,300.
