THREAT left the coaching bridge at NIP
THREAT has announced its retirement from the coaching bridge at NIP. From now on, the 33-year-old Swedish specialist will serve as the technical director of the CS: GO division of the organization. As a reminder, THREAT announced changes in his position before the start of IEM Winter 2021.
IEM Winter 2021 is my last event as head coach as I move on to be CTO for all of our CS efforts. While I love being on stage with the guys, I love even more to really dive into tactical issues and see my plans unfold on the server.
Me and mahone will continue to work day and night to develop a game plan, while the new head coach will keep the guys focused on the game and make sure we stick to the plan when it matters most.
THREAT has led the NIP team since 2016. At the same time, the 33-year-old Swedish specialist left the team for a short time, also acting as an assistant coach. While working with the THREAT team, he led NIP to victory at DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016, DreamHack Open Valencia 2017, Intel Extreme Masters XII - Oakland and Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: Europe. In addition, under his leadership, the Swedish team reached the quarterfinals of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, and also took second place in Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter.
The NIP has already announced that calc will lead the team for the upcoming BLAST Premier World Final 2021. The NIP said it will continue to look for a new head coach in the offseason.
The NIP roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier World Final 2021 is as follows:
- REZ.
- Plopski.
- hampus.
- es3tag.
- phzy (stand-in).
- calc (trainer).
