Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Update Brings Back Iconic Nuketown Map
A major playlist update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has introduced one of the franchise’s most legendary Multiplayer battlegrounds — Nuketown. With this patch, the game now features four fully remastered maps from Black Ops 2, including the fan-favorite Nuketown 2025, originally seen in the 2012 release. Even better, Treyarch has already confirmed that more remastered maps are planned for Season 1, although the official release date has not yet been announced.
As a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, the latest installment in the franchise is packed with nostalgia and callbacks for long-time fans. Players can jump into multiple returning maps, classic weapons like the MSMC (now renamed to MPC-25), and more content meant to capture the original Black Ops 2 experience. Treyarch has also revealed plans to introduce maps that have never previously been remastered, with Meltdown arriving first in Season 1, followed by Standoff, which last appeared in updated form during Black Ops Cold War. And this could just be the beginning — other iconic maps like Yemen, Plaza, Cargo, and more remain potential additions for future updates.
Nuketown 2025 Now Live in Black Ops 7 🎮
Through a free update, Treyarch has officially added Nuketown 2025 to the game. First appearing in the original Black Ops and later revamped for Black Ops 2, the map is now playable across most playlists in Black Ops 7. To make things even better, there is a dedicated 24/7 Nuketown playlist, allowing players to dive into constant high-action matches on the classic map.
While the layout remains a faithful recreation of Nuketown 2025, Treyarch has made a few small aesthetic touches — for example, the original mannequins have been upgraded into robots to better match the Black Ops 7 futuristic setting.
Rumored Double XP Weekend on the Way ⚡
Although the update didn’t launch with a special Double XP event, reliable datamining reports suggest that the first Double XP weekend will start on Tuesday, November 25, and run through Monday, December 1. If accurate, this will give players valuable time to boost both level and weapon XP ahead of the major Season 1 update, which is expected to introduce significant new content.
Earn Double XP Tokens Just for Logging In 🎁
Even without a Double XP event active, Activision is making XP easier to earn than ever. In addition to real-world promotions with brands like Monster Energy and Little Caesars, all players who log in before Season 1 launches will receive:
- Five 1-hour Double Level XP Tokens
- Five 1-hour Double Weapon XP Tokens
However, this reward is only available for a limited time. Anyone logging in for the first time after Season 1 begins will not receive the tokens, making now the perfect moment to jump back into the action.
