New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Story Trailer Revealed

Infinity Ward and Activision have released a new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, focusing on the game’s story campaign. Although it’s only 30 seconds long, it gives a clear indication that the new installment in the series will feature a brutal and harsh storyline, with the stakes higher than ever.

The new video features footage from both the actual gameplay of Modern Warfare 4 and cinematic scenes. Most of the action takes place in France, where Captain Price and Valeria join forces to achieve their shared objectives: Price and his team escort Valeria to Paris in exchange for information about a character named Archer. The story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 picks up directly where the third installment left off; alongside Captain Price, the game will also feature a brand-new protagonist—Private Park, a young soldier from South Korea fighting in real combat for the first time alongside his team. The game is set to be released on October 23 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, while those who have pre-ordered the game will gain access to the story campaign a week early, on October 16.

A film based on Call of Duty is also in development, and director Peter Berg has confirmed that it will be set in the Modern Warfare universe —although he did not specify whether this refers to the original trilogy or the soft reboot released in 2019. In any case, it is unclear whether the film will adapt the events of a specific game or whether it will be an original story featuring fictional characters who have never appeared in the games. The Call of Duty film is scheduled for release on 30 June 2028.
