VCT Game Changers 2023 North America Season Details Revealed

Riot Games has officially revealed the details of the VCT Game Changers 2023 season in North America. The organizers have prepared many changes that relate to the format of the competition, but the general structure of the series will remain the same.

The series will be hosted by tournament operator Knights Arena, who is also currently responsible for the league's TIER-2 production in North America.

The three regular season tournaments, Game Changers Series I, II and III, will begin with open qualifiers leading up to the main event. As part of the open qualifiers, participants will compete in the group stage of the GSL format to determine the eight teams that will advance to the respective split.

Each split will feature a double elimination bracket where all matches except the grand final will be played in BO3 format. In turn, the grand final will be played in the BO5 format.

As the VCT Game Changers 2023 season progresses, teams will compete for a share of the $50,000 prize pool and earn valuable points needed to qualify for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Game Changers Championship.

In each Game Changers Series, the top 16 teams will receive a total of 410 points. The distribution of points will look like this:

• 1st place: 20% or 80 points
• 2nd place: 15% or 60 points
• 3rd place: 12% or 50 points
• 4th place: 10% or 40 points
• 5th-6th place: 7% or 30 points
• 7th-8th place: 5% or 20 points
• 9th-16th place: 2% or 10 points

The following companies are reported to be partners in the VCT Game Changers 2023 series in North America: Verizon, Red Bull, Aim Lab, and Secretlab.

Interestingly, from now on, the non-commercial partner AnyKey will be involved in the tournament. Players will be able to verify their gender in a number of different ways using the service, such as providing a photo ID showing their gender, a doctor's note, or a well-established social media account with "this player's public identity." Players will also be able to verify their identity via voice chat with any of the AnyKey employees.

All participants will need to re-verify via AnyKey prior to the start of the competition in 2023, regardless of whether they have been verified in previous tournaments.
