XSET coach got banned for 12 months
Ubisoft has issued an official announcement announcing that it has issued a ban to XSET coach Budega for "engaging in serious infractions" against members of Team Liquid. As a result, the 23-year-old Brazilian specialist has been suspended from the competitive scene for a period of 12 months.
On May 17 and 18, during matches between XSET and Team Liquid, XSET coach Matheus “Budega” Figueiredo violated the Rainbow Six Circuit Global Rulebook several times by engaging in serious infractions against members of Team Liquid. According to the Code of Practice - Appendix B - Penalty Index, it was decided to suspend Budega for 12 months, effective immediately and until May 18, 2023, and impose a fine of $5,000 on XSET.
Based on existing rules, Budega violated one or more of the following:
- Any actions or statements that may be considered offensive and related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability or mental illness, ethnicity, nationality, skin color, religion.
- Impersonating any team member, manager, administrator, or employee of Ubisoft.
- Theft-related crimes such as burglary, robbery, or theft.
- Intentional intimidation, actual or threat of physical violence against another person.
- Harassment, harassment, inappropriate physical contact, unwanted sexual attention.
However, at the time of writing, the parties did not report specific reasons for the blocking.
Recall that Budega headed XSET in March 2022. In two months, the 23-year-old Brazilian specialist helped the team take fourth place in the NAL - Season 2022 - Stage 1, and also reach the playoffs of the Six Charlotte Major 2022.
