Rainbow Six Siege's Y11S2.3 Patch Speeds Up Oryx and Fuze, Buffs Impact EMPs
Ubisoft shipped Y11S2.3 for Rainbow Six Siege on August 4, a balance-only patch touching six operators and the Reaper MK2 without a single new operator, weapon, or map. The update landed as console build 3.45/1.000.150, and every change centers on shaving seconds off cooldowns or widening a few meters of range.
Operator changes:
- Hibana: X-Kairos detonation timer cut to 3.8 seconds from 4
- Maverick: Breaching Torch canister ammo up to 160 from 144, total ammo to 320 from 288
- Fuze: Cluster Charge breaching time on reinforced surfaces down to 1.75 seconds from 2
- Tubarão: Zoto Canister range up to 3.2 meters from 3
- Oryx: Remah Dash recharge time cut to 5 seconds from 8
- Mute: Signal Disruptor range up to 2.6 meters from 2.475, warning range to 4.875 meters from 4.75
Weapon and equipment changes:
- Impact EMP Grenade: blast range up to 2 meters from 1.8
- Reaper MK2: recoil stages now trigger later in burst fire on both mouse/keyboard and controller
Eight bug fixes round out the patch: rappelling problems in Chalet, defender detection issues in Villa, concussion effects overlapping incorrectly, a Roc Shield hitbox error, crossplay settings resets, squad loading failures, and controller detection problems on console.
The Oryx and Fuze changes matter most to how matches play out. A five-second Remah Dash recharge, down from eight, means Oryx can chain wall-breaks through a site far faster than before, and Fuze's quarter-second cut to reinforced breaching time closes a window defenders used to rotate out ahead of a charge. Both land less than two months after Operation System Override introduced Ranked 3.0, the Calypso Casino map, and a Dokkaebi remaster as one of the year's larger overhauls, and they follow directly on Y11S2.2's console mouse-and-keyboard rules and Jäger's return to 3-speed, which routed M&K console players into PC-only lobbies.
I think Ubisoft is using these small mid-season patches to correct operators that Ranked 3.0 exposed rather than to introduce anything new, since every number here nudges an existing tool instead of reworking one. I'd read the six-operator spread as evidence the team is watching win rates closely enough now to catch problems within weeks instead of waiting for the next full season.
Players on all platforms can expect matchmaking to feel slightly faster in siege phases once the update propagates, with no downtime beyond the standard patch window.
