ESL Unveils New Series of PUBG Tournaments
Esports organizer and production company ESL has partnered with KRAFTON to launch a new series of tournaments for PLAYERUNKNOWN's BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG).
ESL PUBG Masters will consist of four tournaments, split between two regions, America and Europe, with a prize pool of $ 50,000.
In addition to the prize pool, teams participating in the ESL PUBG Masters have the opportunity to earn PUBG Global Championship (PGC) qualifying points.
The first Masters in the Americas kicks off on April 7th. The tournament, called Phase 1, consists of three rounds and a group stage leading up to the grand final, which will be played over two weekends in late April and early May.
In addition, teams will be split into two regions, South America and North America, throughout the championship through to the grand final. The second ESL Americas Masters is expected to take place in July or August.
ESL PUBG Masters in Europe kicks off with qualifying matches on March 31st. Unlike the American format, the European version will include two stages and a qualifying tournament before determining the strongest in the grand final, which will take place on April 23-25.
The tournament operator also announced the ESL PUBG Open, a series of three European tournaments scheduled for the end of this year. Each tournament will offer a prize pool of $ 2,000.
According to a press release, any European citizen can take part in this tournament. Top players will also receive direct invites to ESL PUBG Masters: Summer.
In addition to the analysts and casters covering ESL PUBG Masters, ESL PUBG Open Events will be offered to community casters so they can stream these events on their own channels.
