GSC Game World will not sell S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in Russia
Studio GSC Game World has announced its decision not to sell STALKER 2 in Russia. Only those players who pre-ordered the game digitally will receive their copies. The company announced this on its social networks.
On February 24, at 5 am, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine: our homes, our children, our lives. The media in Russia (and they are all controlled exclusively by the government) tell you that Ukraine is overrun with "fascists" and the Russian troops do not destroy houses, killing civilians. This is a lie, the most disgusting and cynical.
Ukraine and its inhabitants will fight to the last breath - for their freedom and their right to choose. For what you couldn't. We are developers from Ukraine. And it will always be so.
You have the right to believe what you want. But if you care about the truth, then this is it. Apoliticality has no place where death comes. Every penny of taxes that go to the Russian Federation is financing the murder of our children and loved ones, the destruction of our cities.
A few important points:
- Digital editions. Already completed pre-orders remain valid, new ones are not accepted.
- physical editions. Will not be available even to those who have already pre-ordered. For a refund, please contact the stores where you pre-ordered.
- You can return any pre-order. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact the technical support of the payment system through which you made the purchase.
- We are not sorry to lose that part of the community that supports the war with Ukraine.
- We know that there are people who are aware of what is happening and support Ukraine in this war. And you will also face the impossibility of buying. Separation is not possible.
Recall that GSC Game World stopped direct sales of its games in Russia last week. In addition, the studio announced the postponement of the release date of STALKER 2 and the suspension of the production process indefinitely.
Earlier, Polish studios CD Projekt RED and Bloober Team announced that they would stop selling their titles in Russia and Belarus. In addition, Electronic Arts has suspended the sale of its games and content in Russia and Belarus. Activision Blizzard also decided to stop selling its games in Russia.
In the next wave, similar decisions were made by Epic Games, Take-Two Interactive and Ubisoft, who also left the Russian market.
