League of Legends Patch 26.9 Micropatch Released — Riot Targets Key Balance Issues
League of Legends has received a small 26.9 micropatch, as Riot Games continues to fine-tune balance following the main update. While not a major patch, this update focuses on quick corrections to problematic mechanics and unintended interactions that have been affecting the current meta.
According to the developers, particular attention is still being given to items like Gluttonous Greaves and alternative build paths that are shaping gameplay in unexpected ways.
The update introduces a handful of targeted adjustments and bug fixes:
- Deathfire Touch
- Damage per second adjusted from 4–12 + 8% bonus AD + 3% AP → 4–12 + 7% bonus AD + 2.5% AP
- Damage amplification after 3 seconds reduced from 100% → 75%
- Zeri
- Right-click attack range correctly fixed to 550
- Cut Down
- Fixed a bug where the rune was incorrectly dealing 16% bonus damage instead of 8%
- Viego
- Resolved an issue causing incorrect damage calculations
Although the micropatch is relatively small, it reflects Riot’s ongoing effort to react quickly to balance outliers after major updates. Adjustments to Deathfire Touch and fixes to Cut Down are particularly important, as both had a noticeable impact on damage output across multiple champions and builds.
At the same time, Riot confirmed that it is still closely monitoring:
- Item balance, especially Gluttonous Greaves
- Emerging off-meta builds
- Overall damage scaling across different roles
