Rumors: YoungBuck and Nelson will leave the coaching staff of Excel Esports
According to the BLIX.GG portal, the British esports organization Excel Esports plans to make changes to its coaching staff for the League of Legends roster. As a result, after a disastrous performance in the LEC Winter 2023 regular season, the team's management decided to part ways with coaches YoungBuck and Nelson. It is expected that the decision will be made at the end of the championship, which will last until February 26.
YoungBuck took over Excel Esports in November 2019, while Nelson joined the team's coaching staff in early 2022. Under their joint leadership, the European team took sixth place at LEC Spring 2022 and LEC Summer 2022.
However, the team's failures continued into the new season, as Excel Esports suffered eight losses and only one win during the LEC Winter 2023 regular season, thus taking the last place and being left without a playoff. In addition, such a failure promises Excel Esports the loss of a significant part of the points and a significant decrease in the chances of playing in the LEC Finals 2023 at the end of the season.
According to a source, Excel Esports has not yet decided on the specialists who will be part of the team's new coaching staff. However, the future of YoungBuck and Nelson in the club is actually decided, as the management's patience was over.
Current Excel Esports roster in League of Legends discipline:
- Odoamne
- xerxe
- Vetheo
- Patrick
- Targamas
- Abbedagge (bench)
- Youngbuck (head coach)
- Nelson (assistant coach)
