League of Legends: Rumors of a New Map and Riot Games’ Upcoming MMO
Insider WR Uzbeks, known for being a reliable source, has shared new information about Riot Games’ upcoming plans. According to him, the studio is working on several large-scale updates for the League of Legends universe. Here’s what we might expect:
- League of Legends (PC) – A brand-new map and an updated launcher coming in 2026.
- Wild Rift – A map update also scheduled for 2026.
- New project – An open-world MMO RPG in the style of Genshin Impact. Active development is said to begin in October 2025.
Although this didn’t come through an official Tencent channel, it’s worth noting that Tencent rarely makes bold claims without reason. And WR Uzbeks has proven his credibility before — he was among the first to leak details about the ARAM update long before Riot’s closed presentation.
There are also rumors that the new map might be accompanied by a completely new graphics engine, which could push the game’s visuals to a new level. While that part remains unconfirmed, the speculation is exciting. Now we can only wait for Riot Games to make an official announcement.
