Mid-Season Invitational 22 will be held in Busan
Riot Games has announced that Mid-Season Invitational 22 will be held in Busan, South Korea. The championship will be held from May 10 to 29 at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center. For the first time since 2019, a major international League of Legends tournament will be held in front of a live audience.
South Korea has been a pioneer in the esports industry for decades. We are excited to honor her rich history in esports, the passion of Korean fans, and the talent of professional teams by bringing the Mid-Season Invitational to Korea for the first time. Busan has been an incredible host for us during both the 2014 and 2018 Worlds and we look forward to returning there to set the stage for some of the best League of Legends teams in the world.
The tournament will be held in three stages:
- Group stage: May 10-15.
- Rumble Stage: May 18-22.
- Playoffs: May 27-29.
Eleven teams will take part in the championship, which will win the regional divisions. Note that due to the cancellation of the LCL Spring 2022, the teams from the CIS will miss the Mid-Season Invitational 22. During the tournament, the participants will compete for a prize pool of $250,000.
