Kuri joined Flamengo Esports
The Flamengo Esports Twitter account has revealed that Kuri, known for his performances primarily for T1, has arrived in the ranks of their organization. Now he will have to play side by side with Brazilians Felipe 'Boal' Boal, Villan 'Asta' Adriano, Artur 'Tutsz' Machado and Luiz 'flare' Felipe Lobo. Another representative of the team, Leonardo 'Gyeong' Lima, like Kuri, is a support, and therefore will not intersect with Choi Won-young.
On February 1, support player Gabriel 'Bounty' Vieira Donner left the starting lineup. He remained in the esports club, but now Bounty will have to play in the academic team.
Kuri began his career as a professional League of Legends player in 2017 under the I Gaming Star tag. He later went on to join ES Sharks and later became a member of the T1 team. Despite the high-profile name of the team in which he spent, he managed to perform only at LCK Summer 2020 as a substitute. The tournament ended for T1 not in the most successful way. The team took the 5th position and earned $12,632. 2020 marked the first time in League of Legends history that T1 failed to qualify for the LoL World Championship. Over 4 years of his career, Kuri managed to earn only $2,526, which is extremely low for a professional League of Legends player with such experience.
The last tournament in which Flamengo Esports performed more or less successfully was CBLOL 2021 Split 2. There the team took 5th-6th place and received a reward of $2,400. In connection with the unsatisfactory results, the management decided to make changes in the team in the hope of changes for the better. The debut of the updated roster will take place within the Brazilian League of Legends league, CBLOL 2022 Split 1. On January 19 at 18:00 UTC, the team will face KaBuM! Esports.
Flamengo Esports updated roster:
- Felipe 'Boal' Bowl
- Willian 'Asta' Adriano
- Arthur 'Tutsz' Machado
- Louise 'flare' Felipe Lobo
- Tea 'Kuri' Won-young
- Leonardo 'Gyeong' Lima
