Epic Games decided to start the new year with an expansion. Fortnite contributors have revealed that Rad Game Tools is now part of the Epic Games family.
Rad Game Tools specializes in building developer tools. Their "product" is used in 25,000 games. The most famous RGT products:
- Bink 2 - video codec with HDR support;
- Oodle - tool for fast lossless data compression
- Granny 3D - 3D Application Development Kit
Experts from Rad Game Tools will help the developers at Epic Games improve the Unreal Engine. However, at the same time, they may do business with third parties, as is permitted under the agreement between them and Epic.
