Hogwarts Legacy Officially Received DLSS 5 Support - But Players See Minimal Difference

This week, Hogwarts Legacy received a fresh update. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include any new quests from the developers. However, Nvidia announced DLSS 5 support for the 2023 game, which is now available to everyone interested.

Hogwarts Legacy now supports DLSS 5, which includes the 3D-Guided Neural Rendering technology. This feature leverages a neural network during the final rendering stage to make lighting, shadows, and visual details appear even more realistic. However, fans have expressed some disappointment with how DLSS 5 has been implemented in Hogwarts Legacy, arguing that the differences are barely noticeable. As they mentioned, user-made DLSS 5 mods they mentioned for the game seem to deliver more impressive results.

So I've been playing around with NVIDIA DLSS 5 on Hogwarts Legacy that came out today. Control of how photo realistic game looks stays with devs.

It's probably hard to see the difference in here but with DLSS 5 on, there is subtle improvement to the lighting and texture.

I do think that gamers should also be allowed to take DLSS 5 to as realistic rendering as possible so that we can play around with our own settings.

Rumors about Hogwarts Legacy 2 have been circulating for quite some time. The game was first mentioned back in 2024, and this year it even appeared in a Warner Bros. financial report. According to the rumors, the sequel will be much larger in scale than the original, featuring multiplayer, the ability to play Quidditch, and a storyline possibly tied to the upcoming Harry Potter TV series set to premiere next month on HBO. With The Game Awards scheduled for December, announcing Hogwarts Legacy 2 seems like a logical move, especially considering the original game generated over $2 billion in revenue and sold more than 40 million copies.
