First Teaser for the Death Stranding Isolations Anime Released
Kojima Productions has revealed the first teaser for Death Stranding Isolations, an anime series set in the universe of Hideo Kojima’s game. Along with the short video, the developers showed a key poster and confirmed the series will launch in 2027 on Disney+ and Hulu. There’s no exact premiere date or episode count yet.
The teaser runs about 45 seconds. In it, a young porter girl has nightmares about BTs, the otherworldly creatures Death Stranding players know well. On the key poster, the heroine stands next to a motorcycle, with the tagline “My mom became a crater.” It’s likely a nod to voidouts, the explosions that leave nothing but a crater behind after a BT consumes a person.
The series follows a girl who is forced to live in isolation after the Death Stranding and eventually even gets used to that life. In the end, though, she finds herself in an unfamiliar world and sets off on a journey. The story takes place in North America right after Sam, the protagonist of the first game, reconnects the continent through the Chiral Network.
The anime is being produced by studio E&H Production. It’s directed by Takayuki Sano, known for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, with Tow Ubukata handling the screenplay and series composition. Hideo Kojima serves as executive producer.
The series was first announced back in November 2025 at a Disney+ event in Hong Kong, under a working title at the time. Beyond the anime, Kojima Productions is also working with A24 on a live-action Death Stranding film.
