GTA 6 Map Details: How Much Time is Needed to Drive and Fly Over the Map

One of the most interesting aspects of GTA 6 remains its game map. Rockstar Games are true masters at designing the sandbox experience, and fans have no doubt that the sixth installment will feature the biggest, most detailed, and most intricately designed game world yet.

And although the hacker Cyberleek revealed what the GTA 6 map looks like last month, and fans already have a clear idea of its design as they’re creating full-fledged projects dedicated to it, Rockstar has not yet made an official statement on the matter. New information, however, may confirm just how large the GTA 6 map will be. According to Turkish insider konsolum, it will take players 7 minutes of real time to fly around the entire map in an airplane. By car, it will take 35 minutes, and if you want to traverse the entire map on foot, it will take you nearly 180 minutes.

By way of comparison: in GTA 5, you can fly around the entire map in just 2–3 minutes; by car, it takes 10–12 minutes; and on foot, about two and a half hours. This only confirms just how much larger the sixth installment will be compared to the fifth. And although this is still speculative information based on what’s currently known, a recent leak—made possible by an early build of GTA 5 that contains sketches of the sixth installment’s map —only reinforces this assumption.

Flying across the entire Leonida map in GTA 6 takes around 6–7 minutes by helicopter.

GTA 5 took only around 3 minutes to cross its map.

This was based on the early leaked version of the GTA 6 map modded into GTA 5, though, so the final map could be different or even more expanded.

Rockstar’s own preview comments have the world closer to ~2× GTA 5, so the real flyover could land a bit longer than that early test. Still not official numbers. Rockstar has never published a km² figure.
