SILENT HILL: Townfall Early Access Has Launched for Deluxe Edition Owners

On September 22, 2026, 48-hour early access went live for players who pre-ordered the digital Deluxe Edition of SILENT HILL: Townfall on PS5 and PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store. The news was announced on Silent Hill's official account, which separately confirmed the launch for console players as well.

The game, developed by Screen Burn (formerly No Code, the studio behind Stories Untold and the BAFTA-winning Observation), is being published by KONAMI in collaboration with Annapurna Interactive. The full release for all players arrives on September 24, 2026, on PS5, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

SILENT HILL: Townfall takes players to the fog-covered Scottish island of St. Amelia in the 1990s. The protagonist, Simon Ordell, returns there to "put things right," but instead finds himself in a world of tense stealth, explosive confrontations, and puzzles that gradually reveal the truth about the town. The game is played entirely in first person, with the CRTV — a portable television device that picks up unstable signals carrying clues and story fragments serving as the key tool for exploration.

The Deluxe Edition (digital only, $59.99) includes the full game, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and an alternate outfit for Simon. Pre-order bonuses include an exclusive CRTV skin and, of course, the same 48-hour early access.

The game has also received its first critic scores: 81 on Metacritic (45 reviews) and 82 on OpenCritic, where 90% of 31 critics recommend it. The highest score came from Digital Spy (10/10), while the lowest went to VGC, The Outerhaven, and DayOne (6/10 and 3/5, respectively). Reviewers most often praise the atmosphere of St. Amelia, the successful shift to a first-person perspective, and the tense "hide-and-run" gameplay, while the main complaints target the sparse delivery of the story and some exhausting puzzles in a few sections.
