New GTA 6 Details Reveals More About NPCs and Level of Realism

It's been almost two weeks since Rockstar unveiled GTA 6 gameplay as part of a fairly major presentation on Netflix, but the game's still very much the topic of conversation, with new details continuing to trickle out, painting a fuller picture of what to expect.

The latest piece of information comes once again from YouTuber TGG, who's had hands-on time with a GTA 6 demo. He posted a nearly 25-minute video breaking down the game, and fans have already started picking it apart. One thing TGG focused on is how realistic NPC behavior will be, apparently reacting differently depending on whether Jason or Lucia is walking around armed: some will flee, some will panic, and others might even try to grab the weapon. During fights, NPCs can also lose glasses or hats, which the protagonists can then pick up and wear to help evade the police.

Speaking of police, they're getting a realism upgrade too. The six-star wanted system is confirmed to return in GTA 6, and TGG claims escaping it will genuinely be difficult. Individual officers will reportedly vary too; for instance, an out-of-shape cop should be easier to outrun. TGG also mentioned that NPC appearances will reflect their neighborhood, so areas with gyms nearby will have noticeably fitter-looking characters.

In an earlier video, TGG also covered how weapons and parachutes will function as actual physical objects rather than simple pickup icons, as in past games. Parachutes specifically won't be scattered around the map anymore; instead, they'll be a proper equippable item, complete with animations for putting them on and using them mid-jump.
