GTA 6 Might Receive 'Enhanced' Status for PlayStation 5 Pro—But Still Have 30 FPS

Nevertheless, players continue to engage in heated discussions about the most anticipated video game of 2026, with the technical aspects taking center stage.

As is well known, Rockstar North’s co-studio head and head of development, Rob Nelson, previously confirmed GTA 6 will run at 30 FPS on all consoles —including the PlayStation 5 Pro, which was a bit of a letdown for players who were hoping for 60 FPS on Sony’s most powerful console. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean the game will run at a higher frame rate—it will look better, but it will still be capped at 30 FPS.

In any case, Rockstar has yet to reveal the exact specifications for the game on the PlayStation 5 Pro, and fans haven’t ruled out the possibility that the studio will eventually manage to achieve 60 FPS on the console. This has also been confirmed by HipHopGamer, a well-known Rockstar Games insider. On his X page, he literally wrote that GTA 6 will run at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 Pro —however, for now, this information should be treated as a rumor. Sony also recently announced limited-edition DualSense controllers styled after GTA 6 —the announcement took place during the State of Play presentation.
