Sony Announced GTA 6 DualSense During State of Play
After Rockstar showed off GTA 6 gameplay last week as part of the game’s presentation on Netflix, most people didn’t expect the game to be featured at State of Play—the latest PlayStation event. Nevertheless, it did make an appearance of sorts on the show, though the announcement regarding GTA 6 came not from Rockstar Games but from Sony—and it specifically concerns the PlayStation 5 gaming experience.
The presentation featured the reveal of two DualSense versions for the PlayStation 5, styled after GTA 6. The two versions—black and white—each feature a shimmering pearlescent finish and a design inspired by Vice City, the game’s setting. The controller will cost $85, which is more than the standard edition of GTA 6 itself. Pre-orders will begin on September 10, and the release is scheduled for November 19, the game’s release date. You can check out more details about the GTA 6-themed DualSense below:
New GTA 6 DualSense controllers details:
- Limited-time edition
- Сosts $85/ €85/ £75
- Pre-orders begin on September 10
- Launches on November 19 with the game
- There are two versions, black and white
- The Black one captures the energy of Vice City’s iconic nightlife
- The White one embodies Vice City at daybreak, from its white sands and pastel skies to all its laid-back glamour
- Both feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that brings together the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights
- Both also feature custom palm tree details molded directly into the controller, adding a unique tactile element alongside the logo on the back
- The trailer also features a really interesting soundtrack that could be from the game
At the beginning of the trailer, you can also see a note stating that GTA 6 plays best on the PlayStation 5, as previously reported. And this is despite the fact that, according to preliminary statements made by Rockstar North’s co-studio head and head of development, Rob Nelson, the game will run at 30 FPS on the basic PlayStation 5. The situation may improve with the PlayStation Pro, but so far, there is no information to that effect.
