Pearl Abyss Announced DLC for Crimson Desert - Charting the Unknown

Pearl Abyss, the studio behind Crimson Desert, had repeatedly confirmed it was working on DLC for the RPG, though details stayed under wraps for a long time. That changed during State of Play, PlayStation's latest presentation, where the studio finally lifted the curtain on the project.

During the show, Pearl Abyss officially announced a Crimson Desert expansion titled Charting the Unknown, revealing its debut trailer. The footage shows off several notable additions coming to the game: the ability to sail your own ship, along with underwater exploration, something that had been rumored for a while. Players will also be able to build their own castles, outposts, and other structures, with romance options included too. You can check out the debut trailer for Charting the Unknown below:

The developers also confirmed Charting the Unknown will bring new weapon and armor types, along with some smaller updates to the combat system. Best of all, the DLC is set to release October 15 this year across all platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Mac.

Given everything Crimson Desert has been through since launch, including its share of early issues, Pearl Abyss has clearly put in solid work turning things around, and the studio claims they will keep releasing free updates, improving performance and adding new content along the way.
