Crimson Desert’s DLC Might Be Related to Marine Theme
As is well known, Pearl Abyss is officially working on a DLC for Crimson Desert, a game the studio released this March. As yet, no details of the expansion have been revealed, but, according to a certain user, it may be closely linked to a marine theme.
On his YouTube channel, user NANGPLE has posted a new video exploring a possible DLC setting for Crimson Desert. He noted that the game’s latest updates include the presence of blue seaweed textures underwater and a white sandy landscape along the coast. Additionally, changes have been spotted beyond the current playable map, including alterations to the Southern Island, refinements to the sea near the northern desert, and even a certain underwater area—it seems that the events of the future Crimson Desert DLC may, in one way or another, be linked to water and underwater adventures.
Earlier this month, Pearl Abyss confirmed that the release of the Crimson Desert DLC is scheduled for 2026, alongside confirmation that the game will become available to Nintendo Switch 2 owners next year. As for the upcoming expansion, Will Powers, Pearl Abyss’ director of marketing and PR, stated that the DLC feels like "something different" compared to the original game, and the description of its nautical theme certainly fits the bill.
Last week, Pearl Abyss also released the latest update for Crimson Desert – Patch Notes Version 1.18.00. It introduced changes to the way quests are categorized in the game and fixed a number of technical issues.
Crimson Desert is now available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Mac.
